Measure X crosses out:

One plan for the whole waterfront

Where things go, how you reach the water, what you can see from Bridgeway, and who pays for the streets.

Erased, with nothing to replace it.

Give us 30 seconds

See what Measure X would erase.

In 2021, Sausalito committed to update the Marinship Specific Plan and carry its protections into new zoning. That work was never finished. Measure X would erase the entire plan and all its protections before a replacement exists. Here’s what we’d lose.

What you just watched

Measure X deletes the Marinship Specific Plan in its entirety, and shows it by drawing an X through all 128 pages. You just watched every one.

Can the plan be updated and improved?

Absolutely. The City meant to, by carrying its protections into new zoning first and retiring the plan only after that work was done. In December 2025 the City Council voted 5–0 to plan the Marinship’s future around the working waterfront, protecting its artisans and maritime businesses. That work is unfinished. Measure X abandons that approach entirely. It repeals the plan outright, with nothing in its place.
